Lakshmi's Second Chance

From Highway Abandonment to Peaceful Sanctuary

Rescued

March 15, 2023

Initial Condition

Critical - Malnourished, Multiple Injuries

Abandoned on a highway after she stopped producing milk, Lakshmi was found injured and malnourished. A passing volunteer spotted her lying by the roadside, too weak to move, with wounds that told the story of neglect.

Our rescue team brought her to the sanctuary where she received immediate medical attention. The first few days were critical - Lakshmi needed IV fluids, wound care, and round-the-clock monitoring.

Today, she grazes peacefully at our gaushala, her eyes bright with life again. She has become a gentle leader among our rescued cows, often seen comforting newcomers who arrive scared and traumatized.

Your Rs. 101 gave her hope. Her story is one of thousands waiting to be written.

The Miracle of Green Fodder

How Innovation Saved Our Cows During Drought

Rescued

System installed: January 2024

Initial Condition

Infrastructure Project

When drought struck our region, traditional fodder became scarce and expensive. Prices tripled, and many gaushalas were forced to reduce their herds or watch helplessly as cows went hungry.

We refused to accept this fate. With the help of generous donors, we installed a hydroponic fodder system that changed everything. Using just a fraction of the water required for traditional farming, we began growing fresh, nutritious green fodder indoors.

Our system now produces 500kg of fresh fodder daily - enough to feed 50 cows with the most nutritious diet possible. What was once impossible is now reality, thanks to donors like you.

The cows can tell the difference. Their coats are shinier, their health has improved, and our veterinary costs have decreased. This is the future of sustainable cow welfare.

Nandi's Recovery

A Testament to Love and Modern Veterinary Care

Rescued

August 22, 2023

Initial Condition

Critical - Severe Leg Fracture

Nandi was found lying in a ditch near the highway, his right front leg twisted at an unnatural angle. A speeding vehicle had hit him and fled, leaving this gentle bull to suffer alone in the darkness.

With no owner to claim him and no resources for expensive treatment, Nandi faced certain death. But our team refused to give up. We transported him carefully to our facility, where our veterinary team assessed the damage.

The fracture was severe, but not hopeless. Over 45 days of medical care, regular physiotherapy, and an outpouring of love from our volunteers, Nandi defied the odds. His leg healed, and slowly, he began to walk again.

Today, Nandi walks with a slight limp - a badge of honor marking his incredible journey. He reminds us every day why veterinary services are our next mission. Every life is worth saving.

A Mother's Love

Rescued from Darkness, Now Raising Her Calf in Safety

Rescued

June 8, 2023

Initial Condition

Pregnant, Rescued from Slaughterhouse

The midnight raid on an illegal slaughterhouse in a nearby district led to the rescue of 12 cows, including Gauri. She was visibly pregnant, frightened, and had clearly endured terrible conditions.

We didn't know if her calf would survive the trauma. Gauri was moved to our quiet maternity area where she received special care - extra nutrition, gentle handling, and plenty of space to feel safe again.

Six weeks later, in the early hours of a peaceful morning, Gauri gave birth to a beautiful, healthy female calf. Our volunteers named her Asha - meaning "hope" - because that's what she represents.

Today, Gauri watches proudly as Asha plays in the fields, chasing butterflies and discovering the world. Mother and daughter have never known separation, and they never will. Every donation protects families like theirs from being torn apart.
